As a natural mama, I strive to make sure our house is toxin/chemical free! So here I introduce to you a pretty simple recipe for a homemade laundry detergent!!
What you’ll need:
•3 cups borax
•3 cups washing soda
•2 cups baking soda
1 fels naptha laundry bar (can be found at Walmart, apparently this is also a great stain remover!)
25-30 drops of essential oil of choice
I chose young living lemon and purification! It smells fresh and clean! (Interested in learning more about essential oils and young living. Inquire more information at firstname.lastname@example.org )
Youll start with adding all your dry ingredients together first. Baking soda, washing soda and borax.
Then you’ll shave your soap bar. This can also be done in a food processor. Mix with your dry ingredients and then add your essential oils and blend it all in a food processor until it’s a fine powder. There you have it. You’ll use two spoonfuls at a time or you can can use your old laundry scooper and fill to line 1.
Things i I may do different next time: well I ended up using a prettier container, but I think next time I’ll use dr bronners Castile soap and pick a beautiful scent like citrus to add next time! Also not pictured: baking soda.
Who has ever tried homemade laundry detergent? What other DIY house cleaning products have you done?
i have done almost everything DIY in our home and as I continue to refill and make more, I’ll be posting to the blog.
Light & love,
